Emergency Evacuation Policy

In order to keep the children and ourselves safe we have developed the following procedure to evacuate the home in the event of an emergency.

This may be as a result of a fire, flooding, gas leak etc.

We will ensure the children have regular opportunities to practice the evacuation procedure with us.

Fire drills will be carried out and logged regularly.

Procedure

The following procedure will be carried out:

  • Sound the alarm (this is a whistle)
  • Evacuate the children through the safest available exits
  • Take: the register, Contact numbers, Mobile phone
  • Assemble across the road through the alleyway and next to the assigned oak tree
  • Contact the emergency services
  • Comfort and reassure the children
  • Follow the Emergency Services instructions
  • Do not return to the building until the Emergency Services have declared it safe to do so.
