Fire Policy

Our premises have been deemed safe by the fire brigade. The building has also been checked by Ofsted and meets the national standards for childminding.

We have in place smoke detectors, which we will check regularly.

In the kitchen on the wall we have in place at all times a fire blanket and fire extinguisher, which would be replaced if ever used.

We have a fire escape plan on the side of the kitchen fridge.

Fire drills will be regularly carried out with the children within our care.

Procedure

In the unfortunate event of a fire we would carry out the following procedure:

• Go to the meeting point through the alleyway at the top of the road and stand by the designated oak tree.
• Ring 999 for the fire brigade.
• Reassure and comfort the children within our care and finally we will ring and inform all parents.
