Accident and Incident Policy

Each child’s safety is paramount to us. Unfortunately occasionally accidents do happen. To deal with this situation it is important we follow a procedure.

Procedure

If an accident was to occur we would ensure your child receives both comfort and reassurance. The extent of the child’s injuries would be assessed and if considered necessary medical support will be called. Any necessary first aid procedures would then be carried out. We would contact you as soon as your child is comforted to inform you of the accident. If necessary we may require you to collect your child or to meet us at the hospital.

After every accident, however minor we will:

• Complete and sign a report within the accident book, we also require you as parents to sign this. If the incident requires medical treatment we will:
• Inform Ofsted. Inform our Insurance Company and contact Pacey for additional advice/support.

It is important that you inform us regarding your child’s condition following the accident and whether or not they have received any medical treatment as a result.

Accidents off site:

We will ensure to always carry parents’ contact details with us whilst on an outing, in order to follow procedures above should an accident occur off site.
